All this week, we will be letting our teachers and staff know how much we appreciate their efforts, dedication, patience, and kindness!!  There will be food served everyday with  raffles, prizes, gifts, and a family mass Friday at 11:30am.  Your child can go home with you after mass.  Please come and worship with us!!

CONGRATULATIONS!  At our April 16th meeting, Danielle VanHorn was elected Vice President, and Lisa Stefan, Treasurer!!  Website Coorrdinator will be elected at our May meeting, and we will hopefully appoint a Hospitality Chairperson!   Thanks to Mr. David Nickoloff and Mr. Jeff Kodman for their past leadership as VIce President and Treasurer, respectively!!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK—-May 7th–May 11th.  We have compiled a “gift wish list” for each teacher.  Please contact Melanie Szabo at 288-4054 or melszabo@yahoo.com if you would like suggestions for gift giving for the week.

ST. ANTHONY 5000—Thursday, May 31st.  Look for a flyer/donation form to come home soon regarding this sponsor driven fun-walk around our campus!!  Volunteers are always needed that day to help at the various stations. Each student will keep track of their laps around campus via a punch card.  Water and a healthy snack will be provided along with prizes, drawings, lunch, music, and fresh air!!  The walk begins at 12:00pm.  A class schedule of walking will be available.

Mark your calendars for our next movie night—Sat., March 10th at 6:30pm. The movie “Flushed” will be shown in the gym. Admission is free—concessions will be available. Hope to see you there!!

Tonight, Thurs., March 1st, is Marco’s Pizza Night!!  The students each decorated a Marco’s Box, so ask for it when you order your pizza.  Remember to tell them your child’s grade so the class gets credit!  Thanks and Bon appetit!! 

It’s time again to fill up the Easter baskets with Harry London Chocolates!!  This is a pre-pay sale, and all students pre-school–8th gr. can participate.

An order form went home Friday, Feb. 23rd with your child to begin the sale.  All money and order forms are due back Monday, March 12th (checks or money orders made payable to “St. Anthony PTU.”) with pick-up of your chocolate on Wed., March 28th at 2:35pm in the library.  TOP SELLER IN THE SCHOOL WILL RECEIVE $100.OO CASH!!!  THE 2ND HIGHEST SELLER, $50.0 CASH.  THE TOP SELLER IN EACH CLASS WILL RECEIVE 3OZ. CHOCOLATE BEAR!!

Our November pizza night yielded $134.50 profit with Mrs. Delgado and the Kindergarten class winning the pizza party for the most orders!!

Our December pizza night yielded $143.00 profit with Mrs. Jasinski and the 1st grade winning the pizza party!!  CONGRATULATIONS!!

On Sat., Dec. 9th at 6:00pm, the movie ” Elf ” will be shown in the gym–Admission to the movie is one canned food item per person. The concession stand will be open to purchase popcorn, candy or soda. Come as a family or drop off your child at the gym on Sat., Dec. 9th from 6:00pm-7:15pm. Hope to see you there!

It’s Christmas time at St. Anthony’s School!!  Mark your calendars for Dec. 11 (8:30-3:00) and 12th (8:30-2:00) as your child will have the opportunity to “shop” for family, friends, pets, etc…at our PTU sponsored Santa’s Secret Shoppe in the Social Hall!  Your child should have come home with a shopping planner to mark who to buy for and how much to spend.  Items range form $.50–$8.00.  Please don’t send large amounts of cash with small children!  You can help make this wonderful Christmas tradition easier for all involved by working an hour or two Monday or Tuesday and/or sending in wrapping paper, tape, name tags, etc.. to the office by the end of this week (Dec. 8th).  Please contact Margaret Jancsura if you are able to help at 288-8636                     Thank you!

After elections at our last meeting, we congratulate Mrs. Rebecca Peck for accepting the position of Secretary for the PTU!  She will begin her duties at the next meeting in Nov.   Thanks Rebecca!!

SEPTEMBER 11, 2006

Yes!! Mrs. Holly Arra will need to vacate her position as PTU secretary, so we will be nominating and electing a new secretary at the next PTU meeting Oct. 9th! Thanks to Holly for having been eager to volunteer but the family always comes first!

By definition, our Secretary will keep record of the proceedings at each meeting of the Union and of the meetings of the Executive Board. The Secretary will also keep a complete and accurate list of all PTU members.

If you or somenone you know would like to be nominated for this position, please see Mrs. Schultz or Mrs. Van Horn by Monday, Oct. 9th. You may put the name of your nominee in an envelope marked “Mrs. Schultz or Mrs. Van Horn” and drop it off in the school office as well. Nominations at the Oct. 9th meeting will also be accepted.

Thanks for your consideration!! Thanks also to Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. VanHorn for helping in the election of our Secretary.

Our Harry London candy bar sale is now underway!! If you did not participate in the “Buy Out” option which had a Sept. 22 deadline, then 2 boxes of candy bars will be ready for your family on Monday, Sept. 25 for pick-up after school in the teacher’s lounge. Keep the bars in a cool, dry place. Each box has 12 of the four different kinds for a total of 48/box. Each bar sells for only $1.00 with the school receiving 50% profit!!

The sale ends Oct. 15th–send your money ($96.00 for selling 2 boxes) to the school office no later than Monday, Oct. 20th. Check or Money order made payable to “St. Anthony PTU. Mark on the envelope “Attn. Andrea Miceli.”

We still have Pizza Hut cards available for purchase for $10.00 each. This card is good til Sept. 2007, and can be used 12 times. For each large pizza purchased, you will receive a medium one topping FREE!! With the start of football season, school parties, birthdays, or just treating Mom for the night, you can’t beat the deal!! AND your school receives 50% profit from each card sold.:)

Dear St. Anthony Families,

It is very important that you join us on Monday, Sept. 11 at 6:30pm in the library because we are goinig to be making decisions that will effect the whole school!! Come and join PTU, and you will be able to vote and be apart of the decision making process! We need to make amendments to the bylaws, elect a new secretary, review the budget for the year, discuss FUNdraising as well as give chances to earn a $50.00 tuition credit!!

We congratulate the following St. Anthony 8th grade students for earning the Michael Thomas Scholarship Award for the 2005-2006 school year: Brittany Gilmartin, Taylor Herschelman, Elizabeth Rock and Spencer Roule. The scholarship money is a one time award that is issued to the Catholic High School they will be attending in the fall. All will be attending Elyria Catholic High School. Donations to the Scholarship Fund can be made at our St. Anthony Parish Center. Guidelines for applying for this PTU sponsored award can be found on this site.

The results are in, and we are pleased to report that the 1st Annual PTU St. Anthony 5000 was a complete success!! Students from pre–8th, teachers, Parish Staff, and Father Joseph all walked around campus for a total of 5016 laps!! A grand total of $2000 in sponsorship donations was raised for possibly purchasing new playground equipment–HOW ABOUT MORE THAN 1 BASKETBALL HOOP!!?

Goodie bags, bottled water, and a certificate of participation was given to all students.

We appreciate the hard work of Margaret Jancsura in planning, promoting, and carrying out this fun filled day!! We are also grateful to Mrs. Lawhead, school and parish staff, and teachers for their cooperation and support!
