TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK—-May 7th–May 11th.  We have compiled a “gift wish list” for each teacher.  Please contact Melanie Szabo at 288-4054 or melszabo@yahoo.com if you would like suggestions for gift giving for the week.

ST. ANTHONY 5000—Thursday, May 31st.  Look for a flyer/donation form to come home soon regarding this sponsor driven fun-walk around our campus!!  Volunteers are always needed that day to help at the various stations. Each student will keep track of their laps around campus via a punch card.  Water and a healthy snack will be provided along with prizes, drawings, lunch, music, and fresh air!!  The walk begins at 12:00pm.  A class schedule of walking will be available.

An order form went home Friday, Feb. 23rd with your child to begin the sale.  All money and order forms are due back Monday, March 12th (checks or money orders made payable to “St. Anthony PTU.”) with pick-up of your chocolate on Wed., March 28th at 2:35pm in the library.  TOP SELLER IN THE SCHOOL WILL RECEIVE $100.OO CASH!!!  THE 2ND HIGHEST SELLER, $50.0 CASH.  THE TOP SELLER IN EACH CLASS WILL RECEIVE 3OZ. CHOCOLATE BEAR!!

d. Notice to go home regarding Executive Board vacancies effective after this school year – VP and Treasurer.
e. Cinco de Mayo fundraiser – could be used to fund Spanish teacher for next year

a. Movie Night – December movie concessions were $76.00. Motion made to use $849.00 for new projector – 2nd – approved. Projector for movie nights as well as general school needs.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!! 

Our November pizza night yielded $134.50 profit with Mrs. Delgado and the Kindergarten class winning the pizza party for the most orders!!

Our December pizza night yielded $143.00 profit with Mrs. Jasinski and the 1st grade winning the pizza party!!  CONGRATULATIONS!!

2. Treasurer’s Report – N/A as Jeff is ill. Motion made for $50 for gift, 2nd, and Approved.

3. Mr. Humphrey – Christmas concert on the 13th for K-4 and band. 7th and 8th grade going to Nativity Story on Friday, paid by Spirit Services. All students and staff getting Christmas cupcakes. Magazine Sale – 44 students participated, 35 sold 5 or more subscriptions. Pig race is on 12/20/06, at 1:00pm.

Silent Auction - Saturday November 18th – profit of $20,000 – up $2,000 from last auction.

Candy Bars - $2,100 still outstanding. A letter will be sent to families that still owe.

c. Secret Santa – 1st day and set-up went very well. $1,121.55 in expenses and took in $1522.50 today for a $420.95 profit thus far.

Pierogies – production will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on January 9, 2007. Student drop-offs will be limited to 7th and 8th graders. Service incentives will include dress down days and homework passes. One freezer has not been approved in inspection. Motion made for $500.00 for a “new” (from used appliance store) freezer, 2nd, and approved.

Spirit Shop – Baseball shirts have been reduced from $12 to $10 and hats from $11 to $8. So far, 2 of each reduced item have been sold. Black hoodies have been ordered.

5.Teacher liaison: Problem with computer in library needs to be investigated.

6. New Business

a. Trips for 7th and 8th / 5th and 6th – Meeting in February for parents. Will know exact costs by then. Chaperones must complete Virtus training. Additional fundraiser to follow. Motion made to allocate $200 towards trips for each student 5th – 8th grade, 2nd, and passed.

Movie Nights - $76 made – split profits between PTU, Parish, and Athletic Council. PTU will purchase concession items in the future.

Amigos and More – Motion made to use funds remaining from the silent auction to pay for 1 semester of Spanish for K-8, in the event a music teacher is not found, 2nd, approved. Possibly have Cinco de Mayo fundraiser to pay for instruction for next year.

Pierogie Lunch – Made $53 serving to students on December 8, 2006.

Spirit Shop - move merchandise to Educational Resource Room to make “store” for items, possibly reduce price of hats to clear inventory.

c. Pierogies - need to get more help involved, PAC decision could have parents donate services 2x throughout season - possibly by grade levels. Need to have organized play / activity for children vs. chaos - organizing activity could count for service. December 8 - pierogies being sold at lunch. Approximately 200 dozen left. Vintage House Cafe sells during season, possibly other restaurants? May be too much for production if other businesses order.

d. Secret Santa - December 10th (set up), 11th, & 12th. In Social Hall on stage, need donations of paper, bags, tape, and tags - will send flyer home.

e. Candy Bars - 286 boxes handed out, 6 boxes free = 259 boxes to be paid for. Collected $9783.50 so far, which leaves approximately $3,400.00 outstanding. Melanie will work on collecting.

6. New Business

a. Magazine Sale - Starts 11/17/06, with assembly - 1 student plays Deal or No Deal. Orders turned in 11/21/06, 11/28/06, and 12/1/06, with various incentives for each day. Also has good prize incentives for the kids and customers may order online.

b. Tuition Raffle (fundraiser) - will have tangible prize for winner as well as tuition to encourage sales. Melanie will work on after candy money is collected.

c. Movie Nights - May be through a company or may purchase projector. Possibly during holidays - show holiday movie, admission could be a non-perishable food item, and then charge for concessions.

a. Skating Party - well-attended during evening hours, flyer to go home with admission and rental info. Motion made to allow only St. Anthony students and families attend skating parties - 2nd - Motion Approved.
